It seemed only fitting to finally share this illustration today with two of the American bloggers I follow regularly – and they are looking rather patriotic to boot.
I actually got to meet these two last year when I went to New York for my early birthday weekend – I was there to meet Inslee of The Sketchbook and Carly was the first face I recognized walking through the door into a roomful of strangers. It’s funny watching the world of fashion and lifestyle blogging from the outside. You don’t know what these women are really like, although they present a solid public face and seem like someone you whose club you truly feel you want to be a part of. I found both of these girls to be very friendly and genuine, and was moved to paint this image, posted earlier this year from Carly’s Instagram, because it’s such an open and welcoming view of two close friends.
