Believe it or not, it was one year ago today that I painted my very first fashion illustration.  That’s her on the left.  Her girlfriend is Blair Eadie of Atlantic Pacific.  I don’t realize how much I use her as a model.  I could do a quick count of how many I’ve done, but they’ve been given away, or they’re up in a store…I’d have to guess just over a hundred finished illustrations.  I read this fantastic quote (of course) that I can’t quite remember, but it was along the lines of  ‘if you’re thinking of starting a project but talking yourself out of it because of the time involved, do it.  The time is going to pass anyways.’  This is one of those things.  One year has gone by since I first tried illustrating fashion.  I still love it just as much and I would say my confidence with it has grown in leaps and bounds.  That first painting wasn’t too bad though, huh?  Could have been a little braver with her skin tones.   It’s fascinating to see how much you can grow in one year.
